The Reservoir Dogs started out with two friends who shared an interest in motorcycles. Their morning trip to work took them past the scenic Barkhamsted Reservoir in Barkhamsted , Ct. They thought it would be a good idea to find some more folks from the area and put together a motorcycle club. They wanted this club to be built upon friendship and brotherhood enjoying a similar pastime. In 1996 the foundation for the Barkhamsted Reservoir Dogs was put in the works. In 1997, the name now shortened to “Reservoir Dogs”, the club was born.

The club originally held it’s meetings in the basement of a Church until a clubhouse was found. The first clubhouse was on Main Street in Torrington across from Dairy Queen. This remained the Dog’s house from 1998 until 2006. Many good times were had there as well as some tough ones, namely the death of two dear brothers; Phil “Murdock” and Tommy “Wildman” Butler. The Club persevered and began getting increasingly involved with local Charities; St. Jude’s Hospital, Torrington Christmas Village, and Friendly Hands Food Bank. Around the end of 2002 the club started it’s now well know Pizza Night, every 1st and 3rd Friday of every month. This along with our vigilant remembrance of Brothers’ birthdays and anniversaries give us ample opportunity to spend time with our supporters.

In 2006 we uprooted the homestead to 60 Fairmont Ave., Torrington to have a more private and enjoyable place to relax. The building was a little rough but as always the Brothers pulled together and worked diligently for 4 months to have the new building operational. There were many nights that some of us didn’t get home till after 2:00am after working all day then going to the club and insulating and sheetrocking the ceiling.

The new club is 1800 sq/feet and includes a single bay garage, 12×20 covered picnic area, horseshoe pits, large fire pit for cool evenings, heat, central air, full kitchen, pool table, electronic darts, full heated bathroom facilities, and plenty of seating. It’s been a long haul from modest beginnings and we are very fortunate to be where we are now. In large part from the friendship of out supporters.
